Blog EntryUncle Google... I love you...Jan 27, '08 12:02 AM
for everyone

Uncle Google. Those two words are the words that most internet freaks in the world are familiar with. If you have a question on your mind or you are curious about something, and you want to get the answer right away, just ask Uncle Google on internet. You want to cook something special today but you don’t have any idea what food you are going to cook, and you don’t know how to cook it, just ask Uncle Google for the recipe. In another occasion, you happen to stray in an area and you do not know where exactly you are, do not panic because you have Uncle Google to help you show the way. You can go to google earth and in no time you can locate your area. By using google earth, even a missin pilot can be found.

On a certain day, you had a bad day because your boss reprimanded you in public, which embarrassed you, all you have to do just turn to Uncle Google to cheer you up. Uncle Google is awesome, isn’t he? He really provides many great answers for you.

Then who is exactly this Uncle Google? Why does every single soul on internet know him? Is he a film star or a great musician? In fact, Uncle Google is merely a search engine. But it is not just a search engine, it is a well known search engine. In fact, it is the most widely used search engine that once the IT expert had said, “For those who want to learn internet, just meet Uncle Google and wollaaaa… he will teach you like a magic.”

One of the technology advances that I am grateful most is the innovation of internet, and of course, with Uncle Google inside. Internet, completed with search engines, really helps you in many things, start from business, education to things that only have to do with your personal life.

This widely known search engine, Uncle Google, really helps me a lot. For example, when I was so curious about a certain chemical term, all I had to do just try to find it through search engine and, not quite long, I was able to get what I want. Once, when I was feeling blue and I wanted to listen to a nice song, I just asked Uncle Google what was the best site to get good music. In a second, I could get what I wanted. When my mother wanted to try a new recipe but she could not recall the ingredients, I just connected my computer to the internet, and, wuuush, a complete guide for cooking a designated food served in a minute. What a technology…..

So… at this moment, I just want to express my feeling on how lucky I am to live in the global world where internet has become the part of our life. Only one flaw that I think I still regret it, the internet bill is still far too expensive for Indonesian people. The Indonesian government should have a good will to fix that. Well... hopefully one day they will... :(
